The dizzy heights of the 3rd round of the Europa League await Liverpool

Roy Hodgson’s Liverpool side travel to the Philip II Arena in the Republic of Macedonia tonight to take on FK Rabotnicki for the first leg of their third qualifying round of the UEFA Europa League. The match can be listened to live on BBC Radio 5 Live and also on LFC TV.

New Liverpool manger Hodgson has chosen to rest several key players and not rush others back into the squad and has not taken Steven Gerrard, Jamie Carragher, Glen Johnson and new signing Joe Cole over on the trip. Although Liverpool will be desperate to qualify for the group stages of Europe’s second-tier club competition following a quite dismal 2009/10 season he will also be without the strikeforce of Fernando Torres and Dirk Kuyt who are both holding injuries.
