[Italian Serie A] Spal VS AC Milan 10.2 [Copy Link]

SPAL: Newcomer is in trouble ( Recent Form: L L D D L )
SPAL will have to do everything to end the first season in the Serie A in fifty years with a positive feeling. They have now been confronted with the harsh reality of football at the highest level in Italy and therefore this team will have to make every effort to prevent relegation to the Serie B again. At the end of December, SPAL won from fellow-lowfly Benevento, but after that match, the men of Leonardo Semplici failed to impress. The last six games in the league yielded only three points and that's why SPAL dropped to the eighteenth place, so under the feared line. The hole number seventeen Crotone is 'only' three points, but closing that gap is certainly not an easy task. Two weeks ago, SPAL Internazionale held 1-1 in-house and that was a result that the team could be proud of. The formation of Semplici therefore confidently took the plane to Sardinia for the away match against Cagliari, but in that game the visitors failed to deliver the necessary qualities. Cagliari was the parent and that resulted both before and after the rest in a goal of the hosts, so a 2-0 final score appeared on the board. There are now rumors that Semplici is on his resignation and that will undoubtedly bring extra pressure. In addition, Semplici will have to do it in the match against AC Milan without Francesco Vicari. The 23-year-old defender, who already appeared in the base this season in 22 matches, collected his fifth yellow card of the season last week and that's what he got on a match suspension. Furthermore, the experienced Marco Borriello is still on the sidelines due to an injury. The striker scored a goal this season.

AC Milan: Way up seems to be used ( Recent Form: W W W D D )
The board of AC Milan released 250 million euros last summer to provide for the selection of a quality impulse, but that has not yet led to results that speak to the imagination. The Milanese started very weak in the season and that ultimately resulted in the departure of Vincenzo Montella. Former AC Milan player Gattuso took over the helm and now there seems to be a rising line in the performance. AC Milan remained unbeaten in the last five league matches and during that series the formation of Gattuso achieved a victory over Lazio Roma. As a result, AC Milan has now reached the eighth position and the gap with the sixth place has been reduced to three points. The distance to the top five seems a bit far, but who knows what is possible if AC Milan can continue the current line. Recently, AC Milan registered three victories in a row, so it was somewhat disappointing that the away match against Udinese last week did not produce a fourth win. The beginning, however, was good. An early goal from Suso put the 0-1 on the plate, but after the tea it went wrong. Davide Calabria was sent off with two yellow cards and later the equalizer followed, his own goal by goalie Gianluigi Donnarumma. Despite the equal play in Udine, AC Milan is pretty nice in shape and therefore it is not in line with the expectation that Gattuso will make many changes for the meeting with SPAL on Saturday afternoon. He will have to do without Calabria this time, as his red card from last week resulted in a suspension of a game. His absence will probably give Luca Antonelli a new chance to show his qualities from the kick-off. The left back came in as a substitute last week.

THE BETTING VERDICT:
After all, I have been more impressed by the performance of AC Milan than the SPAL in recent weeks and that is why I see the Milanese win. SPAL does have the home advantage and AC Milan wants to lose points and that's why I play low stakes.
