[English Premier League] Bournemouth AFC VS Arsenal 14.1 [Copy Link]

AFC Bournemouth: Seven games with over 2.5 goals each match ( Recent Form: L D W D D )
AFC Bournemouth has been active in the English Premier League since the 2015/2016 season and The Cherries would also like to stay active at the highest level next season. Last season, Bournemouth had a great season with ninth place as a reward, but this season it all runs less at The Cherries. Bournemouth has only one point ahead of the relegation streak and it will be quite a job for Eddie Howe and his team to be over the top after 38 football matches. The Cherries have 21 points and Bournemouth has managed to keep Southampton (20 points), Stoke City (20), West Bromwich Albion (16) and Swansea City (16), but especially the gap on Southampton and Stoke. City is nil. The last game that The Cherries played was a duel in the FA Cup. A few days before the match in the FA Cup against Wigan Athletic, Bournemouth played 2-2 at the same time as Brighton and Howe decided to start with eight other names against Wigan against the game against Bournemouth. The Cherries ran into a 0-2 deficit against the league-leader of the League One within thirty minutes and finally dragged a replay out of the fire by a goal in the injury time of Steve Cook, but certainly in the first half Bournemouth's game was not convincing against The Latics. Bournemouth was the winner of the field in only one of the last twelve matches and that will cause little confidence at The Cherries. However, the Howe squad has been unbeaten for four games in a row and managed to win 2-1 against Everton in the last league match in its own stadium. Still, the Howe team does not seem to have enough qualities to make top teams in the last few weeks: Tottenham (1-0), Chelsea (0-1; 2-1), Manchester United (1-0), Liverpool ( 0-4) and Manchester City (1-2; 4-0) all managed to win their games against Bournemouth this season. Arsenal was too strong for The Cherries at the Emirates Stadium 3-0 earlier this season.

Arsenal: Four winless games ( Recent Form: W D D L D )
It promises to be a number of interesting weeks for Arsenal and Arsène Wenger. The contracts of Alexis Sánchez and Mesut Özil will expire at the end of this season and so it seems that Arsenal will sell both star players in January. Sánchez and Özil are pulling the cart at The Gunners this season, but chances are that the Chilean and the German are still active for Arsenal at the end of this month. Sánchez can leave this month for 35 million pounds (just over 31 million euros) and that is of course a bargain for a footballer like Sánchez. By comparison, Memphis Depay left for a similar amount from PSV to Manchester United a few seasons ago and the Arsenal striker is a few classes better than our compatriot. Sánchez came on Wednesday as a substitute on behalf of Arsenal against Chelsea. Last week, The Gunners and The Blues met each other in the Premier League and then both teams kept each other in balance: 2-2. Also Wednesday night at Stamford Bridge, the game between Arsenal and Chelsea ended in a draw: 0-0. Arsenal, however, did not even play as badly against Chelsea at the home of Emirates Stadium, but at Wenford Bridge the Wenger team was not involved for a single moment. At Arsenal they will not be dissatisfied with the result either, because the return in the League Cup will be on the program in a few weeks. The bloodless draw meant the fourth game without victory for The Gunners and Wenger has now won only three of his last ten matches as coach of Arsenal. It is also striking that Arsenal did not win eleven of the last sixteen away matches and the pressure on the Frenchman Wenger is of course increasing again. The tandem Özil-Sánchez wanted Wenger to shoot a victory in recent months, but the Germans and the Chilean do not always appear at the kick off at the same time during the last few weeks and that is reflected in the results.

After all, these two teams obviously crave victory and the bookmakers think that Arsenal has enough quality to take the three points in the Vitality Stadium. The reality, however, is that Arsenal did not get further away from the last away games than the same games at Southampton (1-1), West Ham United (0-0) and West Bromwich Albion (1-1). The Gunners also knew to win a visit to Crystal Palace (2-3) and I think Arsenal is going to have a hard time visiting Bournemouth. AFC Bournemouth +0.75 is my bet in this game.
