[Holland Jupiler League] FC Eindhoven VS Emmen 13.1 [Copy Link]

FC Eindhoven: disappointing twelfth place ( Recent Form: W L W D L )
FC Eindhoven started the season with a lot of ambition. De Brabanders missed the play-offs for the summer on the last day of play and that made a big difference to the blue-whites. Under trainer Wilfred van Leeuwen, who succeeded Ricardo Moniz on the Aalsterweg, FC Eindhoven hoped to take the road up again, but by now it has become clear that conquering a ticket for the playoffs can sometimes become a difficult mission. . The people from Eindhoven do not perform sufficiently stable and that adds up to the fact that the injury list is extremely long. Flink some basic players fell early in the season because of severe injuries and that has surely been hacked in the Van Leeuwen team. Just before the winter break it was clear that the lack of stability is one of the points that will have to be worked on in the Jan Louwers Stadium. FC Eindhoven, for example, won home at home with SC Cambuur and Go Ahead Eagles, but in a wild match with FC Oss (top scorer Mart Lieder missed two penalties) was lost again. In the last match before the winter break it went completely wrong in the showdown with Almere City. The hosts controlled the game with ease and that offered the formation of coach Jack de Gier the chance to increase the score considerably. The counter eventually stalled at 5-1. The injury list still seems to be coming to an end and that is why FC Eindhoven had to move on the transfer market to enlarge the selection. Rodney Klooster came over from AS Trencin and Abdelmalek El Hasnaoui left AZ to go for his chance with the Eindhoven team. Both players are now eligible to play and they could make their debut for their own audience. Van Leeuwen will not yet have access to players like Kyle de Silva, Frisian Deschilder, Thomas Horsten, Alessio Carlone, Tarik Kada, Joran Vermeulen and Jarno Janssen.

FC Emmen: only lost twice ( Recent Form: D D D W D )
FC Emmen qualified for the playoffs last season and this year the men of trainer Dick Lukkien are well on the way to achieving that goal. The team from Drenthe is extremely difficult to beat and that has resulted in FC Emmen currently being found in seventh place and that the gap with number four Telstar is only four points. That it is difficult to win FC Emmen immediately becomes clear after a look at the rankings. The formation of Lukkien was only the last to draw twice and FC Emmen is at the same level as NEC Nijmegen. All other teams from the top ten of the Jupiler League lost at least four times, indicating that the Emmen team is doing well. The Achilles heel is again that FC Emmen has trouble to win the win and thus the points were already shared 11 times with the opponent, by far the highest number of the Jupiler League. FC Emmen performed well for the winter break. The men from Lukkien have been unbeaten for seven matches in a row and during that series FC Emmen crossed the swords with a few good opponents. The surprisingly performing Telstar in Velsen-Zuid was held at 0-0 and two points were caught at home against Young Ajax and FC Den Bosch. The matches against Young FC Utrecht, FC Volendam and MVV Maastricht were converted into winnings. Lukkien will start with a good feeling on the second half of the season, but he will also realize that there might be more possibilities, given the high number of draws. On the transfer market, FC Emmen did not do any crazy things and therefore a team is expected in the Jan Louwers Stadium without any surprises. Michiel Hemmen left the club, but his absence will not affect the performance of the visitors. Tim Siekman will not appear at the kick-off. The midfielder suffers from a hamstring injury and he will have to let go of this showdown.

After all, Mart Lieder is the current top scorer of the Jupiler League. In his last ten games, he scored ten times and I expect the striker to get some chances again on Friday to make the net shine.
