[Holland Jupiler League] Almere City FC - De Graafschap 9.12 [Copy Link]

Almere City: five unbeaten games ( Recent Form: W D W W D )
The start of Almere City was not to write home this season and that was not really a big surprise. The Flevolanders said goodbye to key players such as Sven Braken and Soufyan Ahannach during the summer and that was hard to absorb. Positive news, however, is that De Gier has succeeded in getting the new formation to play football again. The last five games yielded eleven points and the series of five games without defeat was ideal for self-confidence. The gap with the top ten has now been closed and Almere City could now push even towards the best six if it can hold the current shape. Last week, the away match against FC Volendam seemed to offer the ideal opportunity to add a new victory to the total, but the visitors did not really succeed in showing their full potential. Arsenio Valpoort put the score at 0-1 and the game seemed to have been played when Henny Schilder was sent off the field not long after that goal. The swaying FC Volendam straightened the back and prevented the defeat by a goal from Rodney Antwi. Just like last week, De Gier again has to deal with some personnel problems. Players like Tom Overtoom, Jerge Hoefdraad and Achille Vaarnold have been on the side for some time with injuries and De Gier can not have Kevin Brands and Damon Mirani. De Gier will therefore have to puzzle again to reach his top eleven players.

De Graafschap: best of the rest ( Recent Form: W L W D W )
The start of the De Graagfschap season was not too convincing, but the last few weeks it has become clear that the Superboeren may be a dangerous outsider for the title. In order to really put NEC Nijmegen first, De Graafschap will really have to rise above itself, but the pressure on the Gelderlanders must certainly be possible. Recently the team of coach Henk de Jong also lost the mutual confrontation with NEC and as a result a considerable gap was created with the first place. The recovery was more than decent. At home 4-0 was easily settled with FC Eindhoven and a visit to the surprisingly successful FC Den Bosch was a tip. Last week De Graafschap succeeded again in a home game in profit to convert. Incidentally, that did not really work with sparkling football. The duel with Young AZ seemed to be very suitable in advance to work on self-confidence, but the reality turned out differently. The hosts came just 1-0 ahead by a goal from Daryl van Mieghem and that turned out to be the only goal of the game. A not too convincing victory, but at the end of the stage the De Graafschap players did walk with the three points of the field. De Jong will make some changes against Almere City. Andrew Driver and Mark Diemers were suspended for the meeting with Jong AZ, but on Friday-evening they will return to the base. The weather-matched Youssef El Jebli is also expected at the kick-off. Tim Receveur, Robert Klaasen and Elvio van Overbeek will relocate to the bank due to these changes.

After all, Almere City and De Graafschap have shown in recent weeks that the shape is right and that is why I expect an attractive duel with a lot of chances on Friday. That's why I play the over 3 goals. If four or more goals are scored, you win the bet, with exactly three goals you get the bet back.
